Why we built it
A real four, tired of the alternatives.
We are a padel four in the North East, plus a few who always want in. Nobody argues, we just could never cleanly settle who sits out.
The apps already out there never quite hit it. Playtomic got a lot of us into padel and books a court well, but it can be confusing, and finding and filling a game is harder than it should be.
When your crew is bigger than four, fairly filling that last spot is a game of Mastermind. The Rotation handles it automatically now, instead of living on somebody's spreadsheet.
Ratings are open and transparent. Turning up, or not, is part of the record.
Circles let you draft in the players who raise the quality of a game, and make them easy to find again.
Still the same four. Still sorting who sits out, just without the ninety messages.
What sent us looking
The trouble with the other apps.
Playtomic got a lot of us into padel, and it is genuinely good at booking a court. The friction starts with everything around the game.
A rating nobody can explain
Your number moves and you are not told why. Down 0.01 with no reason, win-or-lose maths that dings you for a partner's off night, and a coaching recalibration that can quietly set you back.
Glass, and the Ledger
Every point of movement is written down in plain English and never edited. Beat a stronger pair 6-3 6-4 and you see exactly what that was worth, and who you played.
Level anxiety, as standard
Inflated numbers the moment you sign up, then a social feature that tells you what percentage of players reckon you are lower than your rating. Everyone is on edge before they have hit a ball.
No questionnaire, no rounding up
You start Unrated and play three games first. Your number only ever comes from real, confirmed results. It is allowed to go up, and it is nobody's business but yours.
A marketplace of strangers
When you just want your usual four, you get open matches with people you have never met, and no easy way back to your own group.
Circles and the Fourth Call
Your group is the home screen. Short a player, CUATRO asks the closest people first: your circle, then people you have played with, then players nearby at your level. Closest people first, strangers never, unless you choose it.
The group chat where plans go to die
The game invite is buried under off-topic noise, and nobody can actually tell who is coming until an hour before.
The Standing Game
Your weekly fixture runs itself. It opens the RSVP, holds the four, queues the reserves, and promotes the next person in when someone drops. No poll, no chasing.
Fees, ads, and the upsell
Booking commission, service fees, a premium tier for things you expected to be free, and at one point a floated charge just for logging a match you played somewhere else.
None of that
CUATRO is free. No ads, no upsell, no fees. We never touch your court money and never hold a penny of it. The Tab just keeps score.
